Madison Behavioral Health Consultants is dedicated to providing psychotherapy and health and wellness consultation. We currently offer virtual visits to residents of Wisconsin, New York, Vermont, Iowa, and the 40 states participating in PsyPact. Our goal is to help you learn new skills to manage the challenges that hold you back. Your mind and body are one - at MBHC we care for them as one. We offer whole-person care by working with other members of your healthcare team, always with you at the center.

At Madison Behavioral Health Consultants we see clients aged 16 and older. We offer psychotherapy, behavioral consultation, and wellness visits.

  • Psychotherapy is a relationship with a licensed mental health professional focused on resolving symptoms related to psychological diagnoses.

  • Behavioral Consultation is a process through which a person receives feedback or guidance with the goal of improving functioning.

  • Wellness Visits are designed to help people gain and maintain optimal functioning in life, with special focus on psychological health.

Our areas of specialty include the treatment of depression and anxiety, coping with chronic illness, grief therapy, anger management, parenting challenges, issues in aging, and professional burnout. Our clients come from all walks of life and we have experience with the specific issues that come with a variety of roles and professions.

Jake Austin, PsyD

Prior to studying psychology, Jake received an undergraduate degree in liberal arts from Wheaton College, where he studied English and Philosophy. He then served in Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta. During his three year tenure he completed a Masters in Education.

Jake earned his doctorate in clinical psychology in 2012 from Antioch University New England, with a special emphasis in Primary Care Behavioral Health and Health Psychology. He has been a licensed clinical psychologist in Wisconsin since 2013.

Jake’s areas of clinical specialty include health psychology, chronic illness, grief, parenting, issues of aging, anger management, anxiety, and depression. He is trained as a Health Psychologist and prioritizes working in partnership with other members of your medical team.
